MACAO RESIDENTS ENJOY COPYRIGHT PROTECTION IN TAIWAN
According to the Intellectual Property Office (IPO), the government of the Macao Special Administrative Region had stated in a reply to the ROC Mainland Affairs Commission dated 14 September 2000 that from the same date, Taiwan Area residents and corporations were eligible for copyright protection under Macao's relevant laws. Accordingly, under Article 36 Paragraph 2 of the Statute Governing Relations with Hong Kong and Macao, Macao residents and corpora-tions qualify for copyright protection under the Copyright Law from 14 September 2000.
