IPR POLICE TASK FORCE SET UP
To demonstrate the government's determination to combat counterfeiting and infringement of intellectual property rights, on 1 January 2003 the National Police Administration, Ministry of the Interior, formally set up the IPR Police Task Force specializing in handling IPR infringement cases. The task force has a total of 220 officers. It comprises two divisions, and six branches, based in Taipei, Taoyuan, Hualien, Taichung, Chiayi and Kaohsiung. Each branch provides a 24-hour crime reporting hotline.
