REVIEW THRESHOLD FOR COMBINATION RAISED TO NT$5 BILLION
Under Article 11 of the Fair Trade Law, enterprise combination is subject to the FTC's prior review and approval if the sales revenue of one of the participating enterprises in the fiscal year preceding the combination exceeds a certain amount as publicly announced by the FTC. Since the number of enterprises with sales revenue in excess of NT$2 billion has greatly expanded, and in order to focus review procedures on combination that would impact fair competition, the FTC has resolved to raise the threshold for review from NT$2 billion to NT$5 billion, effective from February 1.
