DOH PLANS SINGLE LICENSE SYSTEM FOR PHARMACEUTI-CAL PRODUCTS
As announced by the Department of Health (DOH) on 15 June 1988, a single pharmaceutical product may be registered by different firms. However, to ensure the safety of pharmaceutical products and to implement more effective regu-lation, the DOH intends to abolish the existing multiple registration system. A new policy of "single license per drug" is still in the process of being drafted. Under the proposed new policy, the DOH will no longer accept registration ap-plications from different firms for the same drug from the same manufacturer.
