REGULATIONS GOVERNING COMPANY REGISTRATION FEES AMENDED

The Ministry of Economic Affairs issued an or-der (Jing Shang Zi No. 09402411080) dated 27 June 2005 to amend the Regulations Governing Company Registration Fees. The key points of the amendment are as follows:

A company applying for its incorporation registration should pay a registration fee cal-culated at NT$1 for every NT$4,000 of its authorized capital as stipulated in its articles of incorporation. If the registration fee so cal-culated is less than NT$1,000, NT$1,000 should be collected.

A foreign company applying for recognition should pay a registration fee calculated at NT$1 for every NT$4,000 of its working capital in Taiwan. If the registration fee so calculated is less than NT$1,000, NT$1,000 should be collected.

A local or foreign company applying for an increase in capital or working capital should pay a registration fee of NT$1 for every NT$4,000 of the amount of the increase in capital or working capital. If the registration fee so calculated is less than NT$1,000, NT$1,000 should be collected.

A local or foreign company applying for con-solidated handling of an increase and a de-crease in capital or working capital should pay a registration fee of NT$1 for every NT$4,000 of the actual total amount of the increase in capital or working capital. If the registration fee so calculated is less than NT$1,000, NT$1,000 should be collected.

A local or foreign company applying for the registration of a branch should pay a registra-tion fee of NT$1,000.

A local or foreign company applying to reg-ister any other information besides the above should pay the registration fee of NT$1,000.

NT$400 should be paid for reviewing the reg-istry or other registration documents of a company, and NT$200 for the first copy of the registry, and NT$100 for each additional copy. NT$300 should be paid for copying any other document with one thousand or less characters. The fees for an approval certificate in Chinese and an approval certificate in English are NT$200 and NT$600, respectively. NT$100 should be paid for each additional copy of such certificate.
