FOUR MUSIC COPYRIGHT INTERMEDIARY ORGANIZATIONS FOUNDED
Since the passage of the Copyright Intermediary Organization Act on 5 November 1997, various copyright intermediary organizations have been reorganizing themselves and reapplying for permits with the governing authorities. On 20 January of this year, the Ministry of the Interior granted permits for the establishment of four copyright intermediary organizations: the ROC General Association of ROC Music Copyright Owners, to manage reproduction rights, public broadcasting rights, and public performance rights of musical works; the ROC Music Copyright Intermediary Association, to manage public performance rights and public broadcasting rights of musical works; the ROC Recorded Work Copyright Owner's Association, to manage public broadcasting rights of recorded works; and the ROC Music and Audiovisual Copyright Intermediary Association, to manage public presentation rights and public broadcasting rights of audiovisual works.
