1998 MAINLAND (PRC) PATENT STATISTICS
According to the latest figures released by the State Intellectual Property Office of China, that office received 121,989 patent applications in 1998. In all, 25,756 applications were filed by foreign applicants, 7,724 by ROC applicants and 88,509 by PRC applicants. Of the foreign applications, 9,398 were filed by Japanese and 6,396 by US applicants.
