AUTHENTICATION OF DOCUMENTS FOR FOREIGN COMPANIES



According to the announcement (No. 09902424200) made by the Ministry of Economic Affairs on October 6, 2010, when a foreign company applies for recognition as a legal entity, establishment of a branch or a representative office, or amendment to registered particulars, the documents requiring authentication should be (1) authenticated by the government authorities in the country where the foreign company was incorporated, (2) notarized (or certified) by a court in the country where the foreign company was incorporated, (3) notarized (or certified) pursuant to the ROC Notarization Act, (4) authenticated by the embassy or representative office of the foreign company in Taiwan, or (5) authenticated by an ROC embassy or representative office in the country where the foreign company was incorporated.
