THREE INDUSTRIES DESIGNATED AS SPECIAL INDUSTRIES UNDER THE LABOR STANDARDS LAW
The Council of Labor Affairs (CLA) recently designated motion picture and videotape rental shops, social education organizations, and market and exhibition management firms as the industries under Article 30-1 of the Labor Standards Law (LSL). Therefore, the workers' regular working hours, holidays and female workers' night-time working hours and conditions in these industries are not subject to the restrictions of Paragraph 2 of Article 30, Article 36, and Article 49 of the LSL. In addition, the CLA designated market and exhibition management firms as a special industry under Paragraph 2 of Article 32 of the LSL and, therefore, the extended working hours of their workers are not subject to the restrictions of Paragraph 1 of Article 32.
