MINIMUM VALUE OF HIGHER CIVIL APPEALS INCREASED
The Judicial Yuan announced on 30 September 1999 that it would raise to NT$900,000 the minimum value of civil cases for appeal to the Supreme Court, as laid down by Article 466 Paragraph 1 of the Code of Civil Procedure. The order took effect on 15 October 1999. Therefore, from that date on, no second appeal is available for property right disputes where the amount at issue in the second appeal is less than NT$900,000.
