DRAFT AMENDMENTS TO BROADCASTING AND TV LAW
As reported in our January 2000 issue, the Gov-ernment Information Office has drafted amendments to the Broadcasting and Television Law. The draft was approved by the Executive Yuan on 13 January. To prevent over- concen-tration of control over media organizations, a provision was added to limit the maximum shareholding of a shareholder in a radio broad-casting enterprise to 50%, and in a TV enterprise to 10%.
