LABOR INSURANCE BUREAU STEPS UP CHECKS ON UN-DER - REPORTING OF INCOME
To discourage enterprises from under-reporting employees' income for labor insurance purposes, and thereby harming employees' interests by reducing their entitlement to benefits, from De-cember 1999 to the end of June 2000, the Labor Insurance Bureau is stepping up investigation and guidance of selected categories of labor in-surance participating businesses: firms employ-ing under 200 people; and firms in certain sectors (petrochemicals; water, electricity and gas; manufacturing; construction) whose declared average annual/monthly employee income is NT$6,000 or more below the average for their industry.
