DISABILITY BENEFIT MAY BE TOPPED UP TO DEATH BENEFIT
In an opinion dated 5 January 2000, the CLA stated that where a person insured under the la-bor insurance scheme has received disability benefit dies from the same injuries within one year after withdrawing from the scheme, and where death benefit would have been greater than the disability benefits received, the benefi-ciary may apply to receive the difference be-tween the two sums.
