COMPANY LAW ARTICLES 5 AND 7 AMENDED
Amendments to Articles 5 and 7 of the Company Law were promulgated on 25 November 2000. The purpose of the amendments is (a) to bring the law into line with the reorganization of the Taiwan Provincial Government and the reduc-tion in the number of tiers of government (by removing Departments of Reconstruction from the competent authorities); and (b) to reflect the situation following the entry into force of the Local Autonomy Law, which authorizes the en-trustment to special municipality governments the power to review applications for corporate registrations.
