INDUSTRIAL ZONE EIA PRO-CEDURES TO BE SIMPLIFIED
The recent National Economic Development Conference concluded that the procedures for the review of environmental impact assessments should be simplified. The EPA will, therefore, simplify the review procedure, and draft regula-tions for controls on total pollutant emissions from industrial zones, science-based industrial parks and export processing zones. A manu-facturing enterprise which applies to locate in a zone which has already passed an environmental impact assessment is not required to undergo a further environmental impact assessment, on condition that it does not exceed the maximum emission levels set for the zone.
