Taiwan's Amended Patent Act Announced by the President for Implementation

As stated in Lee and Li's newsletter of 10 June 2013 (copy attached), the Legislative Yuan completed the 3rd reading of the amendment bill of the Patent Act, and such amendment was announced by the President on 11 June 2013. As stated in Paragraph 2, Article 159 of the amended Patent Act, the Patent Act provisions as amended on 31 May 2013 shall come into force from the date of announcing the said amendment. According to Article 13 of the Central Regulation Standard Act, the amended Patent Act thus became effective on 13 June 2013. Lee and Li will continue watching the important implementation aspects of the amended Patent Act and keep our clients informed.
